Tim Flattery – The Creative Process and Designing for Hollywood Films

Join TALK and CyberOU as they welcome Tim Flattery. A multi-talented creative concept artist and designer, Tim Flattery is an expert in concept development, design, fabrication and story for the entertainment industry. In a career spanning more than 25 years, he has worked on some of the biggest films for some of the most famous directors in the world including Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis and Michael Bay. Among the number of highly anticipated films he has worked on are Rise of the Guardians 2, Star Trek 3, Tomorrowland and Captain America: Winter Soldier. Previously he has designed and overseen full size construction of custom vehicles such as the Batmobile for Batman Forever, The Fantasticar for Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer, the Amphibicopter and other vehicles for A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, he has raised the creative bar with acclaimed design work on award winning and blockbuster films including Saving Private Ryan, Men In Black 1-2, Transformers, Pirates Of The Caribbean, The Hunger Games, Spiderman 2 and many, many others. He has also done creative work for Walt Disney Imagineering, Chimera Design, EA Games and Spinmaster in the area of theme parks, resorts and games.

Ten participants will be selected from those whom sign up. If chosen, you will pitch your product to a panel of judges; have a chance to win $500 cash, free services for your business and a 6-month membership to MidMichigan Innovation Center; and receive further assistance and consulting from MidMichigan Innovation Center.
Prizes also include a free year membership at OU INC and $1200 in legal services from the Katz Law Firm.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 5-8 PM at OU Inc. (1 Golf View Ln., Rochester, MI 48309). The event is FREE but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

On Friday, August 14, at 4:00 PM, Mac-OU INC client company Coupon Wallet invites you to participate in their 24-hour hackathon! Coupon Wallet has an extensive RESTful API for creating, managing, tracking, clearing, and using coupons digitally. The hackathon challenge is to create an application on any platform (i.e. website, Android, iOS, etc.) using this API. Hardware solutions are welcome as well, though no tools/components will be provided (teams will be required to supply their own). Teams will be judged on their creativity and innovation!
Teams of up to four members are welcome.

Calling all hackers! Join Automation Alley this summer Jun 12, 2015 7:00 PM – Jun 13, 2015 7:00 PM at Grand Circus Detroit for a hackathon to benefit the city of Detroit!
Last year, teams were challenged to build an app for Detroit Public Library and two interns from Detroit Venture Partners went home with the $5,000 grand prize.
#hack4detroit will include breakfast and lunch. The cost to participate is $20. Participation is limited to 65 people. Registration closes June 5, 2015.
