CyberOU would like to greatly thank all of its members and supporters from this past academic year. It was a year filled with events with great business partners and engaging technology demonstrations.
Thank you to all students, faculty, and others who help the organization continue to grow and reach new heights. A special thanks to those showing true dedication to CyberOU’s success, namely our advisor Preston Brooks, Dean Chamra, and Jane Dietrich.
As a testament to the hard work of all involved, CyberOU received university-wide recognition at the annual CSA Awards for Outstanding Adviser of a Student Organization, Outstanding President of a Student Organization, and Student Organization of the Year.
As we begin preparations for the upcoming fall semester, we hope to continually improve and offer new, exciting opportunities to our members. We welcome any feedback and suggestions, sent to email@example.com.

Detroit Regional Chamber 2016 Cybersecurity Conference

The Cybersecurity Conference will offer education and awareness to businesses of both small and large scale. Attendees will hear from top experts from government, law enforcement and the private sector will be covering topics that will help businesses navigate the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework released by the White House.
Experts will discuss best practices to help early users of the NIST cybersecurity framework better understand it, give business owners tools and tips for strengthening a cybersecurity program, and explore ways for businesses to communicate cybersecurity practices with their supply chain partners.

After an over $1 billion investment in their Warren Tech. Center, GM has generously offered to give CyberOU members an exclusive 1-hour tour of the facilities, including the data center. A small group of 20 students will be allowed to step inside a day in the life of GM IT professionals.

Have a brilliant business idea? Working on a new product? Test out giving your product pitch at OU INC’s Best Shot Competition.
Ten participants will be selected from those whom sign up. If chosen, you will pitch your product to a panel of judges; have a chance to win $500 cash, free services for your business and a 6-month membership to MidMichigan Innovation Center; and receive further assistance and consulting from MidMichigan Innovation Center.
Prizes also include a free year membership at OU INC and $1200 in legal services from the Katz Law Firm.
